Steve harvey on dating

Thank you to everyone who took the time to say hi and especially to the kind folks of Square-Enix for being excellent hosts!

I won’t go into one of the many rants I have stored up on how damaging the mere premise of Steve Harvey’s Think Like A Man, Act Like A Lady book can be to women attempting to maneuver through already confusing dating and relationship rituals.

A woman who understands that she becomes extremely emotionally attached to her partner post-coitus may need significant time to determine who her potential partner is and where the relationship may go after sex.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to feel secure about such a thing, and many women with fewer dating and sexual experiences find making and negotiating “wait” rules helpful.

It's all about the "three P's." Oprah.com: Can a list help you find love? "A man has got to see where he fits into the providing and protecting role. ' "You've got to make a space for him to fit in so he can come in and do what men do." Steve doesn't advise women to downplay their success or pack up their designer shoes.

There are millions of smart, beautiful women around the world who can't figure out why they're unlucky in love, including a group of friends from New York. Steve says many successful women dated good men but didn't know it at the time. Even if you look like a million bucks -- and you have a few million in the bank -- Steve says a woman needs to know how a man shows his love.

He is right on, take the time to get to know the man, take the time to really decide if he is someone deserving of your cookie.

Steve says the first mistake women like Jill make is thinking they can change their men.You have to be here to show your daughter how a man should treat her,'" he says. "'You can't do it if you're playing me second to your mama.'" If that doesn't work, Steve suggests appealing to the "three Ps" -- profess, provide and protect. If he really wants your cookie, he will buy it and that means, he sees you as valuable. He won’t just take your cookie, he will pay the value of love for that cookie!
